Albert (brother of Hans) is Professor of Musicology at Utrecht University and Professor of Theology and Music at the Theological University Apeldoorn. He has authored numerous publications, also as supervisor of dissertations. The composers Bach and Mendelssohn Bartholdy enjoy his special attention.

Albert is co-founder of the successful University College Roosevelt (UCR) in Middelburg. There he is head of the Music Department, where practical music is also taught.
